We understand that as a young carer you are taking on lots of extra responsibilities, which may leave you feeling stressed and drained. You may also have less spare time than other young people your age and find it difficult to participate in activities that you enjoy. Many young carers give up a great deal of their time to support their families and loved ones and help to change the lives of those around them for the better.

To ensure that you stay healthy and happy, we have a range of support available through young carer activities, groups, PWB (Personal Wellbeing Budget) and YouCan programmes.

The Carers' Hub runs a 6-week programme in schools to support young carers. The sessions are aimed at uniting young carers from all year groups and hopes to leave a supportive legacy, whilst addressing some important issues that young carers may face on a daily basis.

Our Young Carers Partners

The Carers' Hub works with a range of different partners to offer Young Carers restpite and time away from their caring role. These can include breaks away for a couple of days during school holidays, to a range of fun activity groups throughout the year.

We work closely with the YMCA giving our young carers the opportunity to take part in activities and meet other young carers.

The Princes Trust

The Princes Trust work in partnership with the Carers' Hub to provide a wide range of young carers groups across the Staffordshire area.

The Honeypot Children's Charity

Honeypot is a charity that allows our young carers to have a few days away from home, enjoying activities they may have not tried before.

CHICKS is a national children's charity providing free respite breaks to children aged 8-15 from all over the UK, and who would really benefit from a break from their home lives.
